Dr. Sharon Lawson

Known for her ability to connect with patients and put them at ease, Dr. Lawson is dedicated to blending functional and aesthetic outcomes while making sure her patients feel heard and understood. She utilizes cutting-edge techniques and combines these with the highest safety standards. She takes the time to optimize her patients for surgery, ensuring the best possible results. She practices full-spectrum plastic surgery, including aesthetic surgery of the face, breast and body as well as general reconstructive surgery. As a woman and a mother, she has a particular interest and skill in mommy makeovers, breast reconstruction, cosmetic breast surgery, and all other procedures that help restore form and function from changes associated with motherhood, aging and congenital issues.

Dr. Lawson began her higher education with a Bachelors of Arts in Theatre from Abilene Christian University. Her original plan was to light up the stage on Broadway before recognizing her true calling in medicine. She changed courses and earned her medical degree from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. She completed a general surgery residency at UT Health San Antonio along with a 2-year research fellowship at the Institute for Surgical Research in reconstructive transplantation. She then went on to complete three years of intense plastic surgery training at the prestigious University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

Dr. Lawson has won numerous awards for patient care, surgical knowledge and excellence in research. Among these are the John D. and Deborah Heritage Resident Award for Excellence in Transplantation and many first-place awards for her research presentations. She acted as administrative chief resident her final year at UAB Plastic Surgery.
